How India is Losing It’s Culture

FRANCOIS GAUTIER
Democracy in India has been hijacked. It takes a fortune to be elected. Politicians, elected by and for the people, once they are locked in the ivory tower that is Delhi, forget all about the people.
What is it that which India is fast losing as you read this article? Its culture. Entire patches in the northeast are being converted to Christianity. Missionaries tell tribals that it is sinful to enter a temple, women are asked not to wear bindis, and children are taught to look down on their culture as animist or heathen.
India is fast losing communal harmony. Today, even the Sikh community feels it wants to separate from its Hindu brothers, and Christians and Muslims are encouraged to look down upon Hindus.
In the Indian media, there is a witch hunt against gurus, a deriding and mocking of Indian spirituality, a marginalizing of Hinduism and Hindus, who constitute the immense majority in India and are a billion worldwide, one of the most law-abiding, religious, educated, affluent communities in the world.
More and more, Indian television particularly, but also newspapers and magazines, are casting a look on India that is not only very critical (if you open any newspaper nowadays, you can only end up depressed), but which in its very nature is a Western look -- which judges India according to Western standards.
India's intellectuals defend an artist who paints one of the most revered ancient Hindu gods doing unmentionable things to a Hindu goddess. Someone who is part of a diabolical plot to kill Indian leaders and storm Parliament gets the benefit of the doubt from the same intelligentsia in the vision particularly, but also newspapers and magazines, are casting a look on India that is not only very critical (if you open any newspaper nowadays, you can only end up depressed), but which in its very nature is a Western look -- which judges India according to Western standards.
India's intellectuals defend an artist who paints one of the most revered ancient Hindu gods doing unmentionable things to a Hindu goddess. Someone who is part of a diabolical plot to kill Indian leaders and storm Parliament gets the benefit of the doubt from the same intelligentsia in the name of judicial correctness. Some Indians are more and more divided. Instead of feeling first Indians, they feel they are first Muslims and then Indians, first Dalits and then Indians, first Christian and then Indians. This is a dangerous trend and it spells the death of the minimum unified nationalistic pride that can take a country forward. Instead, Indians today take pride in melting abroad, or adopting a 'secular' creed, which basically makes them soul-less and identity-less, however brilliantly they ape the West.
As a foreigner who loves India, I feel that this blind copying of the West's ignorant and doubting mind, the aping of whatever is has proved wrong in the West - wild consumerism, or savage capitalism - will be a tragedy for India. The Westernization of India must not be at the cost of her culture and spirituality. Yet, there are signs that it is already happening here.

Reflecting on the Gita

Reflecting on the Gita
The Gita has long fascinated humanity and has inspired some of the greatest minds of all time. It is a short scripture with infinite significance packed into virtually every verse. The following are some comments of some eminent personalities of medieval and modern history.

Sri Aurobindo - (1872-1950, mystic, visionary, philosopher and revolutionary of India)"The Bhagavad-gita is a true scripture of the human race, a living creation rather than a book, with a new message for every age and a new meaning for every civilization."

Albert Einstein - (1879-1955, Renowned Scientist)"When I read the Bhagavad-gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous"

Adi Shankara - (8th century AD, renowned Hindu non-dualist philosopher)"From a clear knowledge of the Bhagavad-gita all the goals of human existence become fulfilled. Bhagavad-gita is the manifest quintessence of all the teachings of the Vedic scriptures."

Ralph Waldo Emerson - (1803-1882, father of American Transcendentalist philosophy)"I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad-gita. It was the first of Books; it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us"

Madhvacarya - (13th-14th century, influential Hindu philosopher)"The Mahabharata has all the essential ingredients necessary to evolve and protect humanity and that within it the Bhagavad-gita is the epitome of the Mahabharata just as ghee is the essence of milk and pollen is the essence of flowers."

Henry David Thoreau - (1817-1862, American Transcendentalist philosopher)"In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial."

Mahatma Gandhi - (1869-1948, great religious and national figure of India’s freedom struggle era)"When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow."

Rudolph Steiner - (1861-1925, century German social reformer and philanthropist)"In order to approach a creation as sublime as the Bhagavad-gita with full understanding it is necessary to attune our soul to it."

Aldous Huxley - (1894-1963, British biologist, novelist and philosopher)"The Bhagavad-gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution of endowing value to mankind. It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summaries of perennial philosophy ever revealed; hence its enduring value is subject not only to India but to all of humanity."

Kashmiri Pandits can only return if Article 370 of the Constitution is abolished and Ex-servicemen are settled in J&K

According Midday news on All India Radio, the J&K government has constituted a high level Apex Committee headed by Minister for Revenue, Mr. Raman Bhalla to monitor the return of Kashmiri Pandit migrants to Valley. The committee will also oversee the effective implementation of Prime Minister’s Package already announced for migrant Pandits return. The Prime Minister has announced Rs 1618 crore package for the purpose. The Prime Minister has already in his package announced Rs. 7.5 lakh financial assistance for a family for renovation and reconstruction of their houses located in the valley. Our correspondent reports the Prime Minister in his package has also announced 6000 government jobs for Kashmiri pandits in the valley, out of which 3000 will be given by State government. Salaries of other 3000 will be borne by the Central government initially. All the Kashmiri pandit migrants who will return to the valley will continue to get the relief for 2 years as per already announced package. Their children will also be given monthly stipend. The package also provides relief for those migrant pandits who have Horticulture and Agriculture land and desire to start horticulture or agriculture in that land. The Prime Minister has failed to realize that the Kashmiri Pandits had fled Kashmir valley because of threat to their lives by the Muslim majority of the Valley. This condition has not changed. So even if packages are given to the Kashmiri Pandits, they would again be forced to flee the valley. So, the basic conditions under which the Kashmiri Pandits can live in the valley have to be changed. This can be done only by abolishing Article 370 of the Constitution because this article gives a special status to J&K so that people from other states cannot purchase land in that State to reside there. So, first of all Article 370 of the Constitution would require to be abolished and then ex-Servicemen from other states would have to be settled in J&K so that they could protect the Kashmiri Pandits from brutal Muslim majority. China has carried out such demographic changes in Tibet and Xingxiang autonomous regions by settling Han Chinese so that these regions could remain bonded with China. We, too, have to do this exercise. Settling Ex-servicemen from other States in J&K by abolishing article 370 of the Constitution would render the aggressive Muslim majority ineffective and we may insist even on further demographic changes so that Kashmiri Pandits could live happily in the valley without any fear to their lives.Prime Minister needs to apply his mind in this regard.

Truth behind the Miraj (Maharashtra) riots : Which the secular media ignores

On 3rd September 2009 Muslims in Miraj (Sangali, Maharashtra) took objection to a scene which depicts the slaying of Afzhal Khan and started rioting. Their strategy was to immediately destroy 3 Lord Ganesh idols and then beat Hindus in the area. Tense situation persists even after 2 days. The National and International media have turned a blind eye to these unfolding events.
  1. Muslims desecrate three Ganesh Idols & there have been attacks on Hindus at many places in Miraj (Dist. Sangali).
  2. Reason for Riot is the scene erected which depicts the slaying of Afzhal Khan.
  3. Muslims attacked the Police with sticks & stones.
  4. The Police arrested the Shiv Sena & other Pro-Hindu leaders stating the reason as being violation of the ‘Code of conduct’.
  5. One Tata Sumo of the Police, one Tata Indica of a citizen & another four wheeler were damaged by the rioting Muslims.
  6. The Police threatened Hindus who were not ready for Ganesh Idol Immersion due to Idol desecration.
  7. Muslim youth hoisted their Green flag on the top of SP (Superintendent of Police) Krushna Prakash’s van and he did nothing and on the other hand Krushna Prakash beat Hindu youth mercilessly and even beat Hindu women in their homes upon the false complaint from Muslim youth.
  8. SP Krushna Prakash folded his hands before Muslims to keep them quite. The same SP had mercilessly beaten Pujya Sambhajirao Bhide Guruji, founder, ‘Shivpratishthan’ and the activist of ‘Shivpratisthan’ while they were protesting against the anti-Hindu movie Jodha-Akbar in Sangali. http://www.hindujagruti.org/news/3815.html
  9. Muslims threw beef near a Hanuman Temple. Thus enraged Hindus attacked a few mosques.
  10. Police arrested MLA Mr. Chandrakantdada Patil, Suresh Khade, ex-MLA Sambhajirao Pawar, Deputy Mayor Mr. Shekhar Inamdar, District chief of Shivsena, many Shivsainiks and Hindu youths.
  11. 'Bandh' in Sangali continued even on the 2nd day.
  12. All Hindus including Hindu women were silently taking out a protest march but the Police stopped them and started beating them mercilessly. Even women were not spared.
  13. Ganesh Mandals refused to immerse Idols until the scene of Afzhal Khan’s killing was erected again.
  14. Muslim ladies in the surrounding areas left their homes one day prior to the riots.
  15. The Police arrested four Hindus and mercilessly beat those who were stoning the Hotel and at the same time they just arrest the Muslim coming out from the Hotel with a 'Koyta' (a type of heavy knife used to break coconuts)

Celebrate Navaratri according to science of Spirituality

Sarva mangala mangalye shive sarvartha sadhike l Sharanye trayambake gauri, Narayani namostute ll
Meaning:
O Mother ! You are the personification of all that is auspicious, You are the benevolent form of Lord Shiva, You bestow Divine energy and help people achieve Righteousness, wealth, fulfill desires and Liberation, You are worthy of being surrendered to. Three eyes adorn You. O Narayani Devi, I pay obeisance to You !

What does Goddess Durga do during Navratri?
During the nine days of Navratri, Sri Durgadevi wanders in the Universe along with Her nine weapons, with the help of the Absolute Fire Principle. Roaming every day in new forms, the Primal Divine Energy completely annihilates the distressing frequencies coming from the seven Patals (the nether regions) to the earth every day, in an ascending order. The distressing frequencies transmitted by the negative energies and the chaitanya (Divine consciousness) frequencies of the destroyer form of the Primal Divine Energy are continuously at war in the Universe.
Sri Durgadevi mounts fierce attacks of radiance with lightning speed, with Her weapons. The pitcher (established during Navratri) and the Holy lamp in it are therefore worshipped as a symbol of this. The heat generated by the lamp in the pitcher denotes the scorching atmosphere created as a result of the continuous war that goes on in the Universe for nine days. The Holy lamp is the symbol of radiance that is created by the weapons and missiles of the Primal Divine Energy. The act of worshipping the pitcher also awakens the destroyer chaitanya of Sri Durgadevi and wipes out the distressing frequencies present in the Vastu.
